FC Rouge coach barred from bench during CAF Confederation Cup match
Abdou Amada, known as Dama, the head coach of FC Rouge, was prohibited from sitting on the bench during a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round match against Zambia's Red Arrows. Despite holding the required CAF 'A' license, the coach was forced to follow the match from a distance at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
FC Rouge president Hasina Rakotondramiara stated that the match commissioner informed the club shortly before kickoff that three technicians, including Dama, were not authorized to be on the bench. The Madagascar Football Federation (FMF) attributed the incident to a technical error within the CAF system, noting that while dossiers had been submitted, a necessary attachment was missing. The FMF expects the issue to be resolved for the return leg scheduled for September 13 in Mauritius.
