FC Schalke 04 faces injury concerns and internal criticism

FC Schalke 04 is grappling with personnel issues and internal pressure following two consecutive defeats, including a 0-1 loss to Mainz 05. Ahead of their upcoming match against 1. FC Köln, head coach Miron Muslic faces uncertainty regarding the availability of several key players. Edin Dzeko, Moussa Sylla, and Maximilian Wöber are all dealing with injuries, while Ron Schallenberg is confirmed to be unavailable.

In addition to the injury crisis, the club is struggling with offensive production, having scored only four goals this season and failing to score at home in their last three matches. This lack of performance has drawn sharp criticism from within the organization. Sport director Youri Mulder expressed concerns regarding the team's stability and lack of conviction on the pitch, while team captain Kenan Karaman described recent performances as lacking discipline and defensive rigor.

Despite the criticism, Muslic has maintained a calm demeanor, emphasizing that as a newly promoted Bundesliga side, the team is in a developmental process and must continue to learn.
