FC Schalke 04 players face mixed fortunes following summer transfers

Several players who were targets for or loaned out by FC Schalke 04 are experiencing varying levels of success at their new clubs following the summer transfer window.

Jesper Lindström, who nearly joined Schalke from SSC Napoli before negotiations failed over transfer modalities, has struggled for playing time at RB Salzburg. Similarly, Mustafa Hekimoğlu has seen minimal action at Besiktas, and Badredine Bouanani has yet to record a goal contribution since joining Glasgow on loan from VfB Stuttgart.

On the loan front, Schalke goalkeeper Luca Podlech is gaining significant match experience with Norwegian side Aalesunds FK. However, he has faced defensive challenges, conceding 22 goals in nine appearances. Despite these struggles, Aalesunds FK remains in contention for relegation playoffs following recent victories against IK Start and Molde.
