FC Schalke 04 prepares for Freiburg match amid player updates

FC Schalke 04 is preparing for an upcoming Bundesliga away match against SC Freiburg following an international break. Captain Kenan Karaman noted that the break disrupted the team's recent momentum, despite a solid start to the season. The team is working to overcome a difficult historical record in Freiburg, where they have lost their last five away matches without scoring a goal.

In player news, Schalke striker Christian Gomis has scored his first goal since joining CD Tenerife on loan in the Spanish second division. After a long goal drought, Gomis scored in the 17th minute against FC Cordoba, though Tenerife ultimately lost the match 2-3. Gomis, who was signed by Schalke in 2025, is seeking more playing time after seeing reduced opportunities under coach Miron Muslic.
