Younes Ebnoutalib earns Germany national team call-up

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Younes Ebnoutalib has earned his first call-up to the German national team, marking a rapid ascent from playing in the fourth division to the international stage.

Ebnoutalib’s career has seen significant volatility. Two years ago, he was without a club after a difficult period at AC Perugia in Italy, where he earned only 800 euros per month. After returning to Germany, he rebuilt his career through FC Gießen in the fourth tier and later Elversberg, where he became a top scorer in the second Bundesliga.

His recent form led to an eight-million-euro transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2026. Ebnoutalib noted that Jürgen Klopp was a decisive factor in his decision to represent Germany over Morocco, stating, “when Klopp calls you, you have to go to him.” He is expected to be part of the squad for upcoming Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands and Greece.
