FC Schalke 04 sells 40,000 retro jerseys in two hours

FC Schalke 04 has experienced a massive commercial surge following the release of its new white retro-style away jersey. The club reported selling 40,000 units in just two and a half hours, setting a new single-day sales record for the organization.

Due to the rapid sell-out, the club opened a pre-order period which has already resulted in more than 20,000 additional orders. The jersey features a nostalgic design, utilizing the club’s former logo and a historical Adidas emblem, which has resonated strongly with the fanbase.

Schalke CEO Matthias Tillmann described the demand as “crazy,” noting that even the experienced manufacturer Adidas was surprised by the scale of the interest. The club has placed further orders with Adidas, with new stock expected to arrive between late November and early December to coincide with the holiday shopping season. This surge brings Schalke close to its total sales from the previous season, as the club aims to surpass 100,000 jersey sales this year.
