FC Schalke 04 squad voted

The entire FC Schalke 04 squad has been voted as the club's "Player of the Season" by fans. The unusual award was presented by Michael Riedmüller of the Schalker Fan-Club Verband during a preseason event at the Veltins-Arena on August 8.

During the voting process, the fan club explicitly included "the team" as an option alongside individual players to recognize collective achievement and cohesion. This decision follows the club's successful promotion to the Bundesliga in May 2026. While individual players such as captain Kenan Karaman, who recorded 14 goals and five assists, were eligible for the award, fans chose to honor the collective effort of the entire group instead of a single standout performer.
