FC Seoul nears first K League 1 title in ten years
FC Seoul is on the verge of securing its first K League 1 title in ten years. Currently leading the league with 65 points, the club holds an 18-point advantage over second-place Ulsan HD.
Under the management of Kim Gi-dong, FC Seoul could mathematically clinch the championship as early as this weekend. If Ulsan HD fails to win their match against Bucheon FC on the 17th and FC Seoul defeats Gimcheon Sangmu on the 18th, the title will be officially decided. This would mark the club's seventh overall championship.
The team has demonstrated dominant form this season, leading the league in both scoring with 58 goals and defense with only 26 goals conceded over 31 matches. Analysts credit Kim Gi-dong's tactical improvements and the squad's balanced offensive and defensive play for their sustained position at the top of the table since March.
