FC Sion targets Conference League after strong Super League finish

Swiss club FC Sion, led by long‑time president Christian Constantin, finished the 2025/26 season in fourth place, securing a spot in the Conference League qualifiers. The team posted the league’s best defence, conceding only 40 goals in 38 matches, and enjoyed a ten‑match unbeaten run.

Constantin praised coach Didier Tholot, whose contract was extended to 2029, for bringing stability after a period of frequent managerial changes. He said the club aims to improve on last season’s performance and become "the best team in the country".

The club’s recent progress follows a return to the Swiss Super League in 2024 and a previous avoidance of relegation after finishing ninth in 2025. Constantin and sporting director Barthélémy Constantin are focusing on continuity in the squad and transfer market to sustain the upward trajectory.
