FC Tatran Prešov majority stake approved for sale

Prešov city councilors have approved the sale of 109 shares of FC Tatran Prešov to Tatran Rescue Capital for 1.4 million euros. This transaction represents a 94.78 percent stake in the company's share capital, effectively transferring majority ownership of the traditional football club.

The new majority owner has expressed a commitment to addressing key operational issues within the club. However, some councilors have voiced opposition to the winning bid from the commercial tender, arguing that alternative methods for rescuing the indebted club—such as utilizing regional funds or city reserves—should be considered instead.
