FC Trollhättan upsets Mjällby AIF in Svenska Cupen qualifier

FC Trollhättan secured a major upset in the Svenska Cupen qualifiers by defeating the defending champions, Mjällby AIF, at Edsborgs IP. Melwin Berg scored the decisive goal in the 11th minute, allowing the Division 1 Södra side to hold onto a 1-0 lead and advance to the group stages.

Despite Mjällby's attempts to equalize in the second half, they were unable to convert their scoring opportunities. FC Trollhättan head coach Amin Faily praised the team's development and the atmosphere created by the fans, noting that the club has won eight of its last eleven matches following a difficult start to the season. The victory marks a significant milestone for the club as they continue to integrate young players into their senior squad.
