FC Twente reports 7 million euro net profit driven by player transfers

FC Twente has recorded a net profit of 7 million euros for the 2025-2026 season, largely due to 12.3 million euros generated from player transfers. Key sales included Sem Steijn, Carel Eiting, Mitchell van Bergen, Michel Vlap, Nikée van Dijk, Liv Pennock, Mats Rots, Alec van Hoorenbeeck, and Bas Kuipers. Without these transfer revenues, the club would have faced a negative operating result.

Despite the profit, total turnover fell to 48 million euros—a decrease of 13.7 million euros—because the men's team did not qualify for European competition last season. The club's KNVB financial health score improved from 31 to 35 points, placing it within the healthy range of 31 to 40.

In response to high demand, the club is considering expanding the Grolsch Veste stadium from 30,000 to 40,000 seats. General Director Dominique Scholten noted that the season ticket waiting list has grown from 7,000 to over 9,000 people, with a stadium occupancy rate of 98 percent.
