FC Twente faces striker discontent and completes Thorvaldsen transfer

Striker Sam Lammers has expressed significant frustration regarding his reduced role at FC Twente. After being a primary choice last season, Lammers has been relegated to third-choice striker behind Wout Weghorst and Lucas Vennegoor of Hesselink.

Lammers criticized the club's communication, stating he felt a change in plans early in the season and only recently received formal confirmation of his new status during a meeting with director Erik ten Hag and coach John van den Brom. While Lammers noted the situation is "bizarre" and "frustrating," he has not explicitly requested a transfer, though he remains uncertain about his long-term future at the club.

In transfer news, FC Twente is finalizing the signing of Norwegian talent Filip Thorvaldsen from Vålerenga. Technical director Erik ten Hag confirmed the club is working on strengthening the attack. The transfer fee is reportedly around 5.5 million euros, potentially rising to 6.4 million euros with bonuses. Additionally, ten Hag confirmed he was contacted by the KNVB regarding the Dutch national team head coach position but declined, choosing to focus on his role at Twente.
