FC Utrecht defeats Willem II 3-1 in Eredivisie

FC Utrecht secured a 3-1 victory against Willem II in the Eredivisie, marking their second win of the season. Yoann Cathline was the standout performer, scoring two goals to lead the home side to victory.

Willem II, who continues to struggle at the bottom of the table, managed a single goal through Jaden Slory in the 60th minute. Despite the effort, the Tilburg-based club remains winless after eight matches, sitting at the bottom of the standings.

Utrecht's win, bolstered by a late goal from Ángel Alarcón, helps the club move toward the middle of the league table. For Willem II, the loss highlights ongoing defensive vulnerabilities and a difficult season that has seen them fail to secure a victory since 2024.
