Füchse Berlin faces Bundesliga return after Club World Championship disappointment

Füchse Berlin is facing a demanding schedule in the Handball-Bundesliga following a disappointing performance at the Club World Championship in Egypt. After losing to Veszprem and Al Ahly, the team is set to compete for fifth place against the Brazilian side Pinheiros.

Club manager Bob Hanning expressed dissatisfaction with the team's performance in Cairo, describing their play against Al Ahly as ‘mangelhaft’ (insufficient) and noting the negative economic impact of missing out on higher prize money. Coach Nicolej Krickau also stated the team played well below their standard.

Despite the setback, the team must immediately prepare for their upcoming Bundesliga match against SG BBM Bietigheim. This marks their fifth game in nine days. There is optimism regarding the return of star player Mathias Gidsel, who may be available for the Bietigheim match after missing recent games due to injury.
