Füchse Berlin welcomes back Nils Lichtlein after injury

Nils Lichtlein has returned to the Füchse Berlin squad following a 100-day rehabilitation period after foot surgery. The German national team playmaker, who underwent surgery on June 24, is available for selection for the upcoming Bundesliga match against SG BBM Bietigheim.

Füchse Berlin head coach Nicolej Krickau noted that Lichtlein’s return is crucial for the team’s depth, especially following a busy schedule including the Club World Championship in Egypt. Krickau also expressed concerns regarding the physical treatment of star player Mathias Gidsel, stating that opponents have been allowed to play excessively aggressively against him. Krickau suggested that Lichtlein’s reintegration into the lineup could help alleviate some of the physical pressure placed on Gidsel.
