FCSB and Gigi Becali dispute over Ghencea stadium pitch condition

Former FCSB striker Raul Rusescu said he knew that owner Gigi Becali often decides player substitutions himself, acknowledging that changes sometimes come directly from the club’s patron rather than the coach.

FCSB accused the military club CSA Steaua of deliberately allowing the Ghencea stadium pitch to deteriorate ahead of a European match against Latvia’s FK Auda. Steaua’s technical advisor Adrian Bumbescu rejected the claim, saying the stadium was not left in that state on purpose and suggested that FCSB relocate its matches, possibly to the Arcul de Triumf stadium, for future fixtures.
