FCSB fails to secure two signings while ex‑forward Cristian Dumitru joins Liga II side SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea
Cristian Dumitru, a 24‑year‑old former FCSB academy product and former Romania U21 international, has signed with SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea in Romania's second division after a stint at AFC Metalul Buzău. The forward said he chose the club for its ambitious project and is ready to give his all for the team.
At the same time, FCSB sporting director Mihai Stoica confirmed that the club could not complete transfers for midfielders Stefan Pirgic and Brazilian forward Anderson Ceara. Stoica explained that other European clubs have much larger budgets, saying, “Dacă oamenii dau 2.000.000, 2.500.000, nu ştiu ce, îţi dai seama că nu ne batem cu ei.” He added that the offer for Ceara expired without acceptance, noting, “Anderson Ceara … ultima zi în care oferta noastră era valabilă. Nu a fost acceptată.” The negotiations stalled due to the clubs’ financial expectations and contractual demands.
