Romanian football clubs engage in intense transfer negotiations
Romanian football clubs are engaged in significant transfer activity as the market window approaches its close. FCSB, led by owner Gigi Becali, is aggressively pursuing several players, including Meriton Korenica, Karlo Muhar, and Denis Drăguș. Becali has also expressed interest in Universitatea Cluj striker Jovo Lukic, though Universitatea Cluj president Radu Constantea stated that a 2 million euro offer would not satisfy the club.
In Cluj, a notable negotiation is occurring between rivals CFR Cluj and Universitatea Cluj regarding 19-year-old Lorenzo Biliboc. Universitatea Cluj has reportedly made an offer of 500,000 euros for the player, while CFR Cluj owner Ioan Varga has previously sought sums as high as 4.5 million euros. Biliboc has also attracted interest from clubs in Poland and the MLS.
Additionally, Universitatea Craiova has secured the permanent transfer of Portuguese midfielder João Lameira from Oțelul Galați for a significant fee, alongside the signing of French defender Baptiste Roux. At FCSB, the influx of new players is forcing roster changes, with Risto Radunovic and potentially Eddy Gnahore expected to be removed from the squad list to comply with foreign player regulations.
