FC Voluntari celebrates SuperLiga promotion as president outlines ambitious plans

FC Voluntari secured promotion to Romania's top football tier, the SuperLiga, sparking celebrations among its supporters. Veteran fan Gheorghe Stan, known as “Nea Gică,” highlighted his lifelong loyalty, noting he refrains from alcohol and smoking and works closely with stadium security. He praised the 3‑0 playoff win over Hermannstadt that clinched the club's ascent.

Club president Bogdan Bălănescu said the team will “redeveni echipa de care se temeau și granzii.” He credited coach Florin Pârvu’s leadership and recent winter signings for the successful campaign, recalling a challenging season in the second division. Bălănescu expressed confidence that Voluntari can become a feared opponent in the SuperLiga, aiming to build on strong playoff performances and historic achievements.
