FCSB signs Anderson Ceara as Gigi Becali vows all‑Orthodox squad
FCSB completed the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Anderson Ceara, paying around €530,000. Ceara, who can operate as a number‑10 or right winger, will compete for a starting spot with David Miculescu and aims to help the club reach the UEFA Conference League. Owner Gigi Becali said he was first contacted by club manager Mihai Stoica and later by himself before finalising the deal, and he disclosed that the player received six or seven offers from clubs in Romania and Croatia.
In the same period, FCSB missed out on signing Serbian forward Stefan Pirgic, who opted for a move to Viktoria Plzeň. Becali reiterated his desire for an all‑Orthodox roster, stating, “When we have only Orthodox players, we will sweep all of Europe,” linking his religious criteria to the club’s future success.
