Gigi Becali drives summer signings and staff changes at FCSB
Patron of Romanian club FCSB, Gigi Becali, announced a series of summer acquisitions. He confirmed the imminent signing of striker Denis Drăguș from Trabzonspor and unveiled three additional arrivals, among them French midfielder Eddy Gnahore, who joined despite criticism from Dinamo captain Cătălin Cîrjan. Becali expressed delight upon hearing media reports that Drăguș had accepted the offer.
Victor Becali, the club owner's cousin, said FCSB could meet the financial demands of both Drăguș and forward Florinel Coman. Meanwhile, former scout Bogdan Costicea praised Becali’s openness to opinions, and former player Adrian Ilie turned down Becali’s proposal to head the scouting department, citing other business commitments. Former assistant coach Mihai Pintilii left the club to sign with Greek side Levadiakos, joining head coach Elias Charalambous.
FCSB’s transfer chief Mihai Stoica, who remains in charge of player deals, continues negotiations for additional attackers. Club officials also highlighted the performance of world‑star Erling Haaland, with Stoica calling the Norwegian striker a “phenomenon.”
