FCT Golf Association pushes women's participation as Head of Service Nancy Nathan tries golf

Chairman Akabom Enebong of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Golf Association hosted Head of Service Nancy Nathan for her first golf training at the TYB International Golf Resort and Country Club in Abuja. The event is part of a drive to increase women's participation and grassroots development of golf across the FCT, including a Golf STEM academy that integrates the sport with science, technology, engineering and mathematics education for schools.

Nathan said the experience highlighted the health and recreational benefits of golf and urged more women and youth in the territory to take up the sport, describing it as suitable for all ages and backgrounds. Enebong stressed the importance of involving decision‑makers to unlock the untapped 80‑90 % of sports scholarships available to Nigerian women and called for corporate sponsorship to support the initiative.
