FCT Police order arrests over invalid plates and unpermitted tinted glass

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has issued a directive for the immediate arrest and prosecution of motorists operating vehicles with invalid license plates or unpermitted tinted glass.

Commissioner of Police Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi ordered the crackdown following observations that criminal elements have been using vehicles with concealed, defaced, or deliberately faded plate numbers to evade detection and identification. The command specifically noted the proliferation of such vehicles, including SUVs, and warned against the unauthorized use of fake diplomatic license plates.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh stated that the FCT is a unique environment where these violations pose significant security risks by hindering law enforcement's ability to track offenders. Officers have been instructed to intensify enforcement while maintaining professionalism and refraining from extortion during operations.
