FCT Police reunite missing six-year-old with parents in Abuja

The FCT Police Command has successfully reunited six-year-old Haneem Hussaini Bello with his parents in Abuja. The child had been reported missing after becoming separated from his mother and siblings during Juma’a prayers at the Central Mosque.

Haneem, who had traveled from Bauchi State to Abuja for summer break, was found wandering near the NNPC Towers in the Central Business District on September 4, 2026. Following his discovery, police officers took him into custody and launched an appeal for public assistance.

FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, confirmed the reunification at the command headquarters. The child's grandmother was identified and contacted, allowing for a safe handover to the family after proper verification. The Commissioner credited the successful outcome to the cooperation of the public and the timely information provided to the authorities.
