FCTA and NUDRMON partner to target criminal dispatch riders

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has partnered with the National Union of Dispatch Riders and Mail Operators of Nigeria (NUDRMON) to identify and eliminate criminal elements within the dispatch-riding sector in Abuja.

To facilitate this, the union has developed a membership database, an online identification portal, and unique identification numbers for registered riders. Chinedum Elechi, Mandate Secretary of the FCTA Transportation Secretariat, stated that these tools are essential for distinguishing legitimate operators from unidentified individuals who may use delivery boxes to conceal illegal items.

NUDRMON President Emmanuel Kwaghdega noted that the initiative aims to create verifiable identities for riders, a sector that has become a vital source of livelihood for thousands of Nigerian youths. The partnership seeks to strengthen security and accountability while protecting the reputation of genuine logistics workers.
