FCTA launches monthly fitness programme for staff

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has launched a monthly fitness programme intended to improve staff health, mental well-being, and workplace productivity. The inaugural event was led by Nancy Sabanti Nathan, the Acting Head of the FCT Civil Service, and included management officials, labour leaders, and staff from various departments and agencies.

Nathan stated that the initiative aims to sustain workforce momentum during the final quarter of the year to support administrative priorities in infrastructure, health, education, transportation, and sanitation. Future sessions are planned to include increased walking distances, medical check-ups, aerobics, and cultural displays. The Education Secretariat is scheduled to host the November edition.

Richard Yunana Dauda, Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), noted that the programme serves as a response to health challenges caused by sedentary office work, emphasizing that a healthy workforce is essential for effective service delivery.
