FCTA reconstitutes ADR Committee to resolve land disputes
The Department of Land Administration within the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has reconstituted its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee. The committee is designed to facilitate faster, more transparent, and efficient resolutions for land-related disputes in Abuja.
Tasked with mediation and conciliation, the committee will review complaints, examine land records, and conduct unbiased interfaces with involved parties to advise management on equitable resolutions. This initiative serves as an alternative to traditional litigation, aiming to promote amicable settlements and ensure compliance with agreed terms.
According to Director Chijioke Nwankwoeze, the move aligns with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s reform agenda to sanitize land administration and improve service delivery. The initiative also supports the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by reinforcing transparency and the rule of law in land governance.
