FDA announces nationwide recall of 4.3 million toothpaste tubes

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a voluntary nationwide recall of more than 4.3 million tubes of toothpaste due to deviations from current good manufacturing practices. The recall affects 17 products sold under the Brush Buddies, Evo, and ARU brands.

Many of the affected products are children's varieties featuring licensed characters and themes, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Crayola, and My Little Pony. Flavors such as bubble gum, strawberry, watermelon, and chocolate ice cream are also included. The recall also encompasses adult formulas for whitening, sensitivity, and cavity protection.

While the FDA noted that the products could cause temporary or medically reversible health problems, the likelihood of serious harm is considered low, and no illnesses or injuries have been reported. Consumers are advised to check their brand, lot number, and expiration dates—which range from November 2026 through June 2028—against the official FDA recall list.
