Johnson & Johnson reports positive clinical trial results for cancer treatments
Johnson & Johnson has reported significant progress in several oncology clinical trials. Data presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress regarding the drug Erleada (apalutamid) showed a 62% reduction in the risk of recurrence or death in patients with high-risk prostate cancer when used in combination with androgen deprivation therapy around the time of surgery.
Additionally, early-stage trials for the investigational oral drug JNJ-6143, a RIPTAC small molecule, demonstrated strong anti-tumor activity in patients with advanced, pretreated prostate cancer. In a study of 16 patients, 75% achieved a confirmed complete or partial response, with 77% of patients seeing a PSA level decline of at least 50%.
In another study involving head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), the RYBREVANT FASPRO regimen achieved a 77% overall response rate in patients with recurrent or metastatic disease. This regimen, which combines subcutaneous amivantamab and hyaluronidase-lpuj with a PD-1 inhibitor and chemotherapy, showed deep and durable responses in the Phase 1b/2 OrigAMI-4 study.
