FDCUIC allocates 64 million FCFA to northern Senegal creative projects

The Fonds de développement des cultures urbaines et des industries créatives (FDCUIC) has allocated 64 million FCFA to support creative economy projects in northern Senegal. The funding targets the regions of Saint-Louis, Louga, and Matam.

During the distribution ceremony, FDCUIC Secretary General Jean Benoît Bakhoum emphasized the importance of rigorous and transparent management of these subsidies to ensure they effectively grow the recipients' projects. The initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of local actors and contribute to economic development, particularly regarding youth employment in the creative sector.

For the 2026 period, the FDCUIC has planned a total national envelope of 570 million FCFA. Following a call for projects, 244 programs were selected from 855 applications submitted.
