FDP Leader Henning Höne Backs Alena Trauschel for Party Secretary

In Düsseldorf, Nordrhein‑Westphalia FDP chief Henning Höne announced his intention to run for the federal party chairmanship and proposed Alena Trauschel, a Baden‑Württemberg politician with parliamentary experience, as his candidate for FDP General Secretary. Höne told Spiegel, “I am very pleased that with Alena Trauschel a young woman with parliamentary experience wants to take more responsibility for the Free Democrats.” The nomination positions Trauschel for a key organisational role within the party should Höne secure the leadership.
