FDP seeks clarity on naturalization and deportation in Kreis Viersen
The FDP district parliamentary group in Kreis Viersen has submitted two inquiries to the district administration regarding naturalization processes and the enforcement of deportation requirements. The group seeks to ensure legal reliability by advocating for both efficient naturalization for qualified residents and the strict enforcement of departure obligations for those without residency rights.
Regarding naturalization, the FDP is requesting data on the number of applications received and completed since 2022, the average processing times, and the number of pending cases. They are also inquiring whether the district utilizes the state’s ‘Digital Naturalization’ online service.
On the issue of deportation, the inquiry follows reports that approximately 650 individuals with tolerated stay (Duldung) are currently living within the jurisdiction of the district's foreign affairs office. The FDP is seeking clarification on why these individuals have not been deported, citing reasons such as missing documentation, unclarified identities, or health and family concerns. The inquiry also covers the handling of offenders and the statistics for deportations and voluntary departures since 2024.
