Feather Robotics launches $29,990 modular humanoid robot platform

Feather Robotics, a California-based startup founded by Hoa Mai and Parsa Bakhtiari, has launched a modular humanoid robot platform priced at approximately $29,990. Unlike competitors such as Tesla or Figure that develop integrated hardware and AI, Feather provides configurable hardware and software tools designed for developers to deploy their own physical AI applications.

The platform features a bimanual mobile manipulator with two seven-degree-of-freedom arms, an adjustable torso, and an omnidirectional wheeled base. The system is designed to be compatible with AI models from providers including Nvidia, Skild, and Physical Intelligence. The company reports that its robots are already being utilized in real-world settings, such as cleaning science laboratories and cooking in restaurants.

Having raised $7.6 million in pre-seed funding led by Gradient Ventures, Feather Robotics has already generated over $1 million in revenue. The company’s strategy focuses on providing a deployable, customizable hardware platform that allows developers to modify components like arm configurations and computing hardware for specific industrial or commercial tasks.
