Febraban nominates Leandro Vilain as executive president

The Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) has announced the nomination of Leandro Vilain to serve as its new executive president. Vilain is set to succeed Isaac Sidney, who requested to end his mandate after serving in leadership positions at the federation for seven years and four months.

The transition is described as a planned and harmonious institutional process. The nomination will be submitted to the Board of Directors by Milton Maluhy Filho, the president of the federation's Board of Directors.

Vilain brings extensive experience to the role, having served on Febraban's board for nine years between 2015 and 2024. He previously worked as a partner at Oliver Wyman and currently serves as the CEO of the Brazilian Association of Commercial Banks (ABBC). Because of his familiarity with the organization's structure and agenda, the transition is expected to be expedited.
