Febraban Tech 2026 showcases biometric and digital signature innovations

At the Febraban Tech 2026 event, new technological advancements in identity verification and digital documentation were showcased. Serpro presented a lecture on the technical requirements and challenges of operating facial recognition biometrics on a national scale. The discussion highlighted the integration of Serpro’s AIBIO biometric platform with Intelbras equipment to manage high-volume identity validations while maintaining privacy and reducing algorithmic bias.

Additionally, ZapSign introduced a tool that integrates electronic signature processes directly into WhatsApp. The technology allows for document sending, acceptance registration, and identity verification through three distinct methods: link-based signatures, clickwrap for low-risk consents, and a high-security layer using Open Gateway technology. This security layer utilizes mobile network data, integrated with Vivo’s infrastructure, to verify the relationship between a user's CPF and their phone number, while also detecting potential fraud risks such as recent SIM swaps.
