Febrie Adriansyah case sparks debate over warrant legality and corruption charges

Legal scholar Ufran Trisa of Universitas Mataram said the police search conducted in the investigation of former junior special prosecutor Febrie Adriansyah is permissible provided it follows proper authority and criminal procedure rules. He stressed that confidentiality of the search is necessary to protect evidence and the integrity of the investigation, citing the Constitutional Court decision No. 21/PUU‑XII/2014 as guidance.

In a public forum, legal practitioner Kapitra Ampera called the case "a big theft" and urged swift, impartial prosecution. He questioned the recent transfer of the investigation from the police to the Attorney General’s Office, asking, "Why is the case shifted again to the Kejaksaan? Why not let the police handle it from start to finish?" Participants also highlighted the need for transparent tracing of alleged corrupt funds linked to projects such as PT Asabri and PT Krakatau Steel under the anti‑money‑laundering (TPPU) framework.
