Febrie Adriansyah challenges extortion indictment in Jakarta court
Former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, has filed a resistance note at the Jakarta Corruption Court, requesting that judges cancel the indictment against him.
Adriansyah argues that the prosecution's indictment lacks clarity regarding his specific legal involvement in an alleged extortion scheme. The case centers on allegations that Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang (also known as Ferry Boboho) extorted at least Rp55 billion (approximately 5 million Singapore dollars) from property tycoon Tan Kian.
Adriansyah contends that while the indictment details Ferry's active role in threatening Tan Kian and requesting funds, it fails to explain how these actions constitute Adriansyah's own intent. He has challenged prosecutors to prove whether he issued orders prior to the meetings or if his alleged involvement only occurred after the funds were reported to him.
