FECAVA and Royal Canin launch veterinary educational partnership
The Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA) and Royal Canin have launched an educational partnership to provide European veterinary professionals with evidence-based resources. The collaboration aims to produce four clinical factsheets and infographics, specifically targeting gastrointestinal disease and neonatology, including nutritional management.
The first factsheet focuses on Canine Chronic Inflammatory Enteropathy (CIE). This resource provides a step-by-step clinical approach, covering initial suspicion, the exclusion of extra-gastrointestinal causes, dietary trials, and regular monitoring. The documentation emphasizes that up to 90% of dogs with CIE are food-responsive, with many achieving long-term clinical remission through dietary management alone.
The factsheet will be distributed to veterinarians during the WSAVA/FECAVA/PSAVA Congress held in Warsaw, Poland, from October 13 to 16.
