FECHAC celebrates 30 years of social work with festival in Creel

The Fundación del Empresariado Chihuahuense, A. C. (FECHAC) held the FECHAC Fest Creel in the Central Plaza of Creel to commemorate its 30th anniversary. The event brought together more than 30 civil society organizations, allied institutions, volunteers, and over 200 citizens.

Participants and local families accessed information modules, specialized guidance, community activities, and various services. These resources were specifically aimed at children, adolescents, youth, adults, and vulnerable groups. The gathering served to connect the community with development programs operating within the Sierra Tarahumara region, including organizations such as the Red Cross, Fundación Tarahumara, and various local clinics and foundations.

FECHAC was established following the ‘Sábado Negro’ disaster in 1990, which severely impacted neighborhoods in Chihuahua City. This event mobilized the business sector and civil society to create a social participation model that now supports thousands of projects in education, health, and community strengthening across all 67 municipalities of the state.
