Fecomércio-RR seeks delay on 6x1 work schedule vote

Fecomércio-RR, representing the commerce and tourism sector in Roraima, has requested that the vote on a Constitutional Amendment Proposal (PEC) to end the 6x1 work schedule be postponed until after the elections.

The entity argues that the proposed changes to working hours require a more extensive debate involving both workers and employers to assess potential economic consequences. This stance aligns with a national campaign led by the National Confederation of Commerce of Goods, Services, and Tourism (CNC).

Industry leaders expressed concerns that altering constitutional labor rules during the current economic climate—characterized by high interest rates and restricted credit—could increase costs for employers, potentially impacting product prices, formal job creation, and levels of informality.
