Fecomércio-RS issues manifesto to 2026 election candidates
Fecomércio-RS has released a manifesto addressed to candidates for the 2026 elections, targeting positions in the Palácio Piratini, the Legislative Assembly, and the National Congress. The entity is calling for economic responsibility, fiscal discipline, and structural investments to support the business environment in Rio Grande do Sul.
The document highlights that local entrepreneurs are facing a series of crises, including the aftermath of the pandemic and recent floods, compounded by high interest rates and high household debt. Key demands include controlling public spending, reducing legal insecurity, improving infrastructure, and investing in education.
Luiz Carlos Bohn, president of the Fecomércio-RS System, emphasized the need to move beyond populism to focus on real improvements for the business climate. The manifesto also notes challenges such as the tax burden and unfair competition from digital imports.
