Fedecámaras seeks to increase worker income in Venezuela
Fedecámaras president Felipe Capozzolo has announced a shared intention within tripartite dialogue tables—comprising the government, unions, and businesses—to increase worker income and strengthen financial capacities in Venezuela. Capozzolo emphasized that wage increases must occur gradually alongside improvements in productivity and competitiveness. To make these goals viable, he called for a revision of the current Labor Law to address specific calculation methods that impact corporate costs.
Additionally, Fedecámaras has introduced an ‘Investment and Employment Plan’ focused on four strategic pillars: labor training, access to technology, an export-oriented vision, and institutional strengthening. This plan aims to restore economic well-being to Venezuelan households.
In a separate labor development, the National Federation of Public Employees (Fedeunep) has proposed an emergency $300 year-end bonus for workers to mitigate the loss of purchasing power during the upcoming holiday season.
