FEDEGANORTE recognized for contributions to Dominican livestock sector
The Dominican government, through the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) and the Dominican Association of Ranchers and Farmers (ADHA), has recognized the Northern Cattlemen's Federation (FEDEGANORTE) for its role in strengthening the nation's livestock and agricultural sectors.
The recognition took place during the XXXV Medal of Honor for Merit ceremony, led by President Luis Abinader. During the event, ADHA President Jonathan Rivera noted that government support for the agricultural sector included financing exceeding RD$25,000 million in 2025, benefiting over 19,000 producers. Additionally, a fertilizer subsidy program is set to be reactivated in 2026 with an investment of more than RD$2,000 million.
Hecmilio Galván, executive director of FEDA, emphasized the necessity of initiatives that bolster national production and ensure food security. The ceremony honored individuals dedicated to innovation and sustainability within the Dominican agricultural industry.
