Fedemco to present wooden packaging environmental declaration at Fruit Attraction

The Spanish Federation of Wooden Packaging and its Components (Fedemco) will present a sectoral Environmental Product Declaration (EPD/DAP) at the Fruit Attraction trade fair in Madrid, held from October 6 to 8 at IFEMA.

Based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, the EPD aims to provide the market with quantified, verifiable, and comparable environmental data regarding wooden packaging. This initiative responds to European regulatory frameworks that demand greater transparency in environmental communication and restrict the use of unsubstantiated generic claims.

The project is 70% funded by the Conselleria de Industria, Turismo, Innovación y Comercio through the INENTI 2026 call. Fedemco will present the project to institutions, specialized media, and retail representatives on October 8 to demonstrate the value of the EPD as a tool for environmental transparency within the fruit and vegetable supply chain.
