Federación mayor seeks provincial coparticipation advance for salaries

The mayor of Federación, Ricardo Bravo, met with Entre Ríos Governor Rogelio Frigerio and members of his cabinet to discuss the city’s deteriorating fiscal situation. Bravo asked for an advance of provincial coparticipation funds to cover mid‑year salaries and aguinaldo payments, noting that “without it it is difficult to meet the municipal treasury obligations.”

He highlighted the broader economic slowdown affecting the region, especially the decline in tourism that underpins the local economy. The discussion also covered pending infrastructure projects, including the relocation of 165 families from the Renabap neighbourhood, and the municipality’s ongoing requests for CAFESG financing. Frigerio’s administration is pursuing resources from the national government to assist municipalities facing similar financial pressures, and Bravo praised the “very good” relationship with the province.

The request aims to provide immediate cash flow to meet payroll commitments while the city continues to manage its public works agenda amid a challenging economic environment.
