Federagenti and ONT sign protocol to boost sustainable Blue Economy in Italy

The Italian maritime agents association Federagenti and the Osservatorio Nazionale Tutela del Mare (ONTM) have signed a protocol of understanding in Genoa. The agreement was formalised by ONTM president Roberto Minerdo and Federagenti president Paolo Pessina.

The protocol commits the two bodies to joint initiatives on research, dissemination, training and dialogue aimed at protecting the marine environment while fostering sustainable maritime commerce. It highlights the development of the Blue Economy and the concept of “Green Defence,” seeking a new culture of the sea that balances ecological preservation with commercial activity.

Both parties stress that the pact is part of a broader national network of partnerships intended to strengthen governance of the maritime system through shared responsibility between public institutions and private operators.
