Federal authorities charge multiple individuals in U.S. election fraud cases

Federal authorities have brought multiple charges related to election fraud and illegal voting across several U.S. states. In Los Angeles, prosecutors charged James Brass, Courtney Price, and Jateisha Herron in connection with an alleged operation on Skid Row. The group is accused of using stolen identities from a database to pay individuals to sign California ballot petitions using forged signatures between February and August 2026.

In a separate series of actions, the Department of Justice reported charges against six individuals across three states for offenses including fraudulent voter registration and identity fraud. This includes the arrest of Mariana Alexandra Dewey, a Peruvian national, who allegedly misrepresented herself as a U.S. citizen to vote in the 2024 election. Additionally, authorities in Louisiana have charged two individuals with fraudulent voter registration and voting by an alien.
