Distrito Federal 2026 election preparations and projections

The 2026 elections in the Distrito Federal (DF) are shaping up with significant activity regarding legislative seats. According to an Exata OP poll registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), eight names are projected to be elected to the DF bench in the Chamber of Deputies. The most cited candidate is current district deputy Fábio Félix (PSOL). Other projected names include Rafael Prudente (MDB), Fred Linhares (Republicanos), Júlio Cesar (Republicanos), Reginaldo Veras (PV), Agnelo Queiroz (PT), and Thiago Manzoni (PL).

For the Legislative Assembly of the Distrito Federal, there are 431 registered candidates competing for 24 district deputy seats. The electorate in the DF consists of 2,253,132 eligible voters. The first round of voting is scheduled for October 4, 2026.

Following the election, the process includes the certification of elected officials, with a deadline of December 18. Due to legislative changes, the inauguration for district deputies and governors will take place on January 6, 2027, rather than January 1.
