Federal High Court Begins Phased Move to New Bourdillon Road Complex in Lagos

The Federal High Court’s Lagos Judicial Division started a phased relocation on July 31 2026, moving from its former premises at 24 Oyinkan Abayomi Drive to the newly completed complex at 1B Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi. The first phase transferred Vacation Courts 7 and 12 and Courts 2, 3, 4, 5, together with the offices of the Chief Registrar, Deputy Chief Registrars and the Electronic Litigation Registrar of Process. The move was announced in a public notice signed by Chief Registrar Yahaya Shafa and addressed to the Nigerian Bar Association, litigants, the Lagos State Government and the general public. The relocation aims to enhance judicial administration, improve facilities for judges, lawyers and litigants, and minimise disruption to ongoing proceedings. Further phases will relocate the remaining courts and departments, with additional notices to follow. The court expects the new complex to provide a more conducive environment for the administration of justice and better service delivery.
